D’Lites pulls off something I still don’t understand. The ice cream is low calorie but still manages to taste good. No, it’s not as sweet or rich as traditional ice cream, but that actually works in its favor. Sometimes sugar overload is more punishment than treat, and this place hits the balance just right. The custom flavors are always interesting and worth trying, and if you didn’t know, you can ask for a swirl of the flavors of the day which is basically the best move on the menu. This is the best ice cream in Austin. You might think “the best lower calorie ice cream?” No, just the best. The fact that it’s lower calorie is great, but you’re definitely going to want to get the big portion. Next time I come here I’m bringing a cooler and dry ice to stock up. SO GOOD!
