Nick was our server and he did a great job! They were definitely prepared for the huge Thanksgiving crowd. The food was great!
Like one person said the service has really gone downhill. The last time I was there a couple of weeks ago, when they showed me my food one item was just a plain hamburger steak but was supposed to be mushroom hamburger steak. I saw the manager and told him and said that the service had gone downhill the past year or so. He told me to that this was his third day and to give him a chance. My children and I stopped in for dinner before my sons race and my kids ordered chicken and dumplings to which were cold and I'm sorry but we're just horrible tasting. My son had Mac and cheese as a side which it came out ice cold. I ordered chicken fried steak which the meat was so chewy there was no way anyone could get it chewed up in their lifetime. What has happened to The Dixie Cafe? The food quality and service has greatly declined in the last few months. It seems they changed their recipes to a cheaper/blander fare. Had the Cajun Catfish and I am glad I got the classic vice the light or I would have had to order a second meal. Super large plate with enough room left over to park a 16 oz. T-bone including the sides. May have to find a new place for good Southern cooking in Bartlett. :-(
