Dr Patel took me after suffering from pulmonary sarcoidosis for several years. She asked me about quality of life and I knew I was in the right place. We went through several years until she recommended I talk to the transplant team at Shands. I was transplanted 22 months after meeting them and transplanted 2/28/24. Dr Patel, thank you for your skill, gifts, and humanity. My life has changed dramatically. It is a long process, but worth it!
