History Established in 1986. In 1986, Old Division Hardware was opened for business by: Glenn Lambert, and his daughter Laurie Gefre, in the heart of SE Portland. After Glenn's first wife passed away due to her health, he married Kathy Lambert in 1988. The name was changed to Division Hardware soon after. They have two sons, both of whom work in the store as well. Best Hardware Store Around – Had the best experience at Do it Best!!! on Division. I was in desperate need of an AC unit and called EVERYWHERE to find one. Most stores were out or they only had the super expensive ones in stock. Do it Best had great AC unit available at a reasonable price and even brought it out to my car for me!!! I will go there first now every time!
Amazing service, lots of Stuff, free popcorn... – These guys are great. A trip to Division Hardware is utterly different than a trip to Home Depot. I've never been in a store, of any kind, anywhere, with such a dedication to customer service. There is ALWAYS someone waiting to help. They've helped me figure out the craziest things for tricky plumbing problems, and find the perfect nut and bolt.. And some days of the week they have free popcorn. Only wish they had longer hours...
