District Rolfing provides Rolfing and other manual & movement therapy in NW DC. The goal is to help you move and feel better. Rolfing is a hands-on therapy that helps coordinate and balance your body. People come to Rolfing for many reasons: to improve alignment, do better at sports or other physical activities, recover from injuries, or just not feel "stuck" in their bodies. It's great to prepare or recover from surgery, after pregnancy, and to recover from accident or trauma. It's more than massage: we combine myofascial t... read more

Anne is wonderful. I’ve tried many treatments with limited success to address the pain and muscle tightness associated with my connective tissue disorder, and she’s one of the most effective at making me feel better. It’s hard for me to know what I need when pain in one body part is often caused by tightness or misalignment in another, but she’s always able to figure out what I need (mostly Rolfing, plus some visceral manipulation), and I leave each session feeling much better than when I arrived. She’s incredibly skilled at... read more
Anne is amazing! I don’t even know where to start. I was in conversation with two other Rolphing therapists before going here, and both were pushing me toward a 10 series without having met me. Anne said, “Why don’t you come in and we’ll see what you need.” She fixed me right up in one session! Pain that I’d been dealing with for years was gone, and my range of motion noticeably increased. My favorite part is when she’ll do something like massage my leg, and I feel relaxation in my shoulders… So cool! The entire body is conn... read more
Anne is an incredibly skillful, intuitive, and professional bodywork practitioner. I’ve come to her for help with both standard problems (shoulder pain) and more esoteric ones (shortness of breath that persisted a long time after having Covid, even though medical testing showed nothing wrong.). In both cases, she was able to help me in a lasting way, not just make me feel better for a few days. At the beginning of both sessions, she observed my posture and breathing, and she was able to identify patterns that were contributi... read more
My acupuncturist recommended Anne for addressing chronic pain, and it has been incredible working with her. I've been able to access movement previously unavailable to me, and each session has given me more body awareness. I particularly appreciated lessons in sitting and walking. One of the most healing aspects of working with Anne has realizing how former PT experiences left me tender to touch. In contrast, I've been able to relax with Anne, particularly because she offers explanations and checks in often. I am very gratef... read more
Magic hands! I was suffering with severe sciatic nerve pain in my glutes for 3 months! The pain I experienced when sitting or laying down was getting progressively worse and I was starting to get worried that I would have to focus on pain management rather than healing. I was desperate for solutions and thankfully found District Rolfing. Working with Anne was different from other experiences I have had with Rolfing in the past, it was not painful or aggressive. She clearly has a deep understanding of the interconnectedness o... read more
