The property is comfortable, with a rustic lodge feel - which is exactly what it holds itself out to be. There is a nice pond on property that is good for spending your mornings; we spotted Elk near the pond on one morning. The property also provides free breakfast (bananas, bread, yogurt, coffee) which was much appreciated. The location of the property is fairly convenient; it is walking distance to many restaurants and also a Safeway. The drive in to the property can be a bit tricky though, as the turn is a sharp one. Our room smelled like straight up cigarette smoke. I asked to switch rooms and they were sold out, so we put up with it. I had to reach out to to the manager 2x before he said he’d give me a 20% refund, and I was told it would be a few days. It’s been a week and a half and I have reached out 2 more times because I still have not received the refund but he hasn’t responded to me. I used to love coming here, but not as much anymore. Before the most recent time, my room had 0 hot water.

The Discovery Lodge was a last-minute booking, and it turned out to be a nice little find. I loved the small lake on the property and the absolutely stunning views. Breakfast, however, wasn’t exactly a highlight, no waffle making machine, just pre-packaged waffles (which, let’s be honest, is a bit of a heartbreak). This is the perfect lodge if you're looking for rustic charm. Clean rooms and great food within walking distance. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The pictures don't do it justice!
