Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra (DSES) is an incredible organization with over 80 volunteer and on staff instructors with the biggest hearts.
If you have a child with special needs and want them to try skiing this is the place to go. His instructors were amazing. I met other volunteer instructors during his session who seem just as amazing and knowledgeable. My son got the boots on and walked in them with no problem (behaviors). He put the skis on and tried those out. I thought we would be spending most of the time trying to get him use to the boots (that would’ve been okay). We cannot say enough about how much DSES means to my family and my son! Not only has it helped my son grow stronger physically but he gained so much confidence along the way! We did the bike group throughout the summer as well as a few sessions at June Lake and Main Lodge and it was all so wonderful. There were a ton of supportive people with the most amazing adaptive equipment I’ve ever seen!
