Went in for an oil change. Technician opened engine air filter housing without asking and recommended replacement of the filter. It was dirty, so I agreed to have it replaced. Upon leaving the shop, I noticed the vehicle’s engine light was on, so I went to an auto parts store to pull the codes. Turns out the technician lost the stock air filter bolt and replaced it with a generic one without a proper washer and left the housing loose. Got an oil change at Dipstix in December 2025. The employee was on his phone the entire time and clearly not paying attention while working on my car. A few months later, I started having serious issues and spent over $4,000 on repairs. When I recently got another oil change, I was told my car only had HALF the oil it should have because the gasket on the drain bolt was never put back on—so my oil had been leaking out for months.
