About this business

Specialties Great food and drink, fun, friends and family in the Pacific Heights neighborhood! History Established in 1988. From the beginning, Dino's & Santino's has been all about family. Coming from a long line of successful restaurateurs, Dino opened the original Dino's on the corner of California and Fillmore in 1988 with the help of his mother, Koula. Since the restaurant's opening, the family at Dino's has continued to grow with each passing year. The Dino's staff is an extension of this family, with some members havi... read more

We'll be back! – We don't live in The City but we visit often. We usually have dinner in North Beach since there are so many good restaurants there to choose from. But since we were in the Filllmore and had a parking space we decided to stay there for dinner. We wanted a salad and a pizza. We chose Dino's because he had several salads to choose from on the menu. Usually a salad seems to be an afterthought in most pizza parlors, but ours were delicious and fresh with a tasty dressing. We each ordered the house wine. I had a c... read more

Best Pizza Joint in SF – I never write reviews, but I just moved a couple of blocks from Dino's Pizza and the staff were all soooo nice and accomodating that I only hoped the food was as good. I had take out, loved the pesto pizza! The menu has way more than your average corner pizza joint also. It seemed like it was a cute and cozy place to dine in with friends as well. Will definitely be going back. 5 stars for me.

A jewel on Fillmore Street – Dino and his crew serve up great food and pitchers of beer in a down-to-earth atmosphere. The outstanding service and tasty food (try the mountain pizza and Greek salad) make this an ideal place to watch a game, drink a few pitchers with a group of friends, dine with family, or go to for a date. The upstairs can be reserved for large groups.

This Lower Pacific Heights pizzeria features traditional thick-crust pies and red-sauce pastas. – Lunch and dinner can be quite crowded here, primarily with young professionals from the neighborhood. The doughy, medium-thick pizza, served by the pie or slice, is loaded with a thick layer of cheese and fresh tomato sauce. More than a dozen traditional toppings are available, including mushrooms, pineapple, sausage and fried eggplant. Red-sauce pasta dishes come with a large dinner salad and a basket of rosemary-spiked garlic ... read more

Great Pizza in a Great Location, Crowded but Good customer service – After hearing a raving recommendation from a friend and upon realizing I live so close to it, I finally checked it out with my boyfriend. We went to grab a quick bite to eat on a Sunday evening. It was crowded -- no different than those times that I passed by it -- but the service was pretty good. The pizza was not disappointing at all; the slices were thin enough to make it not doughy, but filling enough to hold all the toppings. I'm still exploring the di... read more

This is my first citysearch review, but I felt I had to report my feelings about this pizza...YUK. I walk by this place all the time and the pizza looks so good. I finally ordered a medium cheese pie for delivery tonight. The crust tasted like cardboard. I really don't need to say much more...but I will. The bottom of the crust was crispy, too crispy and dry. The upper portion of the crust was chewy. I'd rather eat a pizza hot pocket. It tastes more like a real pizza. Very disappointing. Plus a medium, cheese only pie came t... read more

Yum! – The crust is medium thick, but they still get it crispy so it's not a soggy mess. Good selection of toppings and the greek salad is tasty. This is a great neighborhood spot and I love how nice everyone was there, especially Dino himself! Don't let your frustration with pizza in SF prevent you from trying this place - it's actually one of the few good places!

A great discovery – I can't believe I ignored this place for 7 years. Right at the corner of California and Fillmore, Dino's is a great, inexpensive, charming little pizza joint with an emphasis on friendly service and value - and the pizza's not bad either. Huge salads smothered with mozzarella cheese help add a little greenery to your meal. I'm stunned this one didn't make the pizza "Best Of" lists here at Citysearch - it's much better than at least half the pizza joints in the top 20, and at least holds its own against th... read more
