What a disappointment. Up until today we have loved Diner 248. But the experience today was atrocious. We sat under the tent for dinner. We asked the waitress if we could substitute a side salad for fries and she said yes. Then the bill arrived and we were charged $4 for each salad ( there were three of us). The waitress did not tell us nor was it printed on the menu that a substitution would cost $4. We complained to the manager ( on duty 9/12/20 at 7:00 pm) and in a snotty tone she asked if we ate the salads. Of course we ... read more

I've got to say we were both pleased and disappointed at the same time. I had the Buffalo Chicken with a spinach wrap. This wrap, as all their sandwiches, included fries and coleslaw. The wrap was absolutely delicious.... very tasty and just the right amount of heat. The sides, however, left much to be desired. The service was also good. We arrived before any crowd (approx 5pm) and were served quickly. I had the Greek salad with grilled chicken. While the chicken was very tasty, there wasn’t much. For the price of the salad , I shouldn’t have to hunt for the chicken. Our server was very pleasant and I was pleased with the service.

Management at Diner 248 has decided to go against CDC recommendations and requires every employee to wear gloves rather than wash hands and use sanitizer. The person who sat us touched the wrapped silverware with the same hand she used to open a drawer to get it and to open the doors to let us into the restaurant. They are wrapped in the napkin customers are supposed to use to wipe their mouth. I watched as the same girl constantly touched her mask and hair then seat people. Very family friendly place! One of our favorite places to eat for just about any occasion! One of my all time favorite dishes is the honey mustard chicken! It’s a big enough portion that I can eat for two meals! Every time we see Lee he’s always going out of his way to make sure the kids are happy. Definitely going back again and again! 🥰
