Dim Sum is true to its name. It offers an authentic dim sum menu with all the trappings of a similar establishment in San Francisco or Hong Kong. Patrons gather around massive family-size tables as carts roll by with dumplings, rice, roast duck, sesame balls, and all the rest. Dim Sum's menu is divided into two sections: one half lists "Americanized" Chinese food, while the other lists Chinese Chinese food. The latter is where you will find beloved delicacies such as chicken feet and tripe. Be aware that for this authentic d... read more

Surprisingly good Well there isn't much of a selection for dim sum in Charlotte so when we moved there our expectations were pretty low. Dim Sum Restaurant was great. We went almost every weekend. The service is friendly and the food is tasty. My favorite is the fried taro.
Good Dim Sum We were looking for Dim Sum in Charlotte and glad that when we found a place the food was good. Parking can be a little tough on busy weekends so plan to go for an early or late lunch.
My favorite brunch spot in Charlotte Dim Sum, on Central Ave. has pretty standard dinner fare. Don't go for dinner- wait until the weekend- preferably Sunday when the best variety is available and go for brunch. They, as the name would suggest, specialize in dim sum and serve from rolling carts on the weekends, though you can order from a dim sum lunch menu throughout the week.
So So - – Okay so I spent eight (8) years in Sydney, Australia. Am married to an Asian and had "dim sum" almost every weekend. There is a very large population of Chinese in Sydney (they too have a Chinatown like San Francisco and NY). I moved backed to the USA and we chose Greenville, SC - and I realized how much I missed my trips for "dim sum". We met another Asian couple who told us about this restaurant in Charlotte and said it was "ok". My first impression was that they were not organized when greeting people (no real h... read more
one of two dim sum options in Charlotte area – We drove all the way from south Charlotte to try what we were told is the best dim sum in town. We were disappointed with the really limited selection. We figured since it was a Saturday afternoon (1pm) it would be the height of dim sum service with the full array of offerings. There were only 4 other tables occupied. The flavors of the the different dishes (we had shu mai, hum bow, har gow, steamed pork buns and a couple of others) were not bad. There wasn't, however, a large e... read more
dishonest, bad service, avoid carry-out – Don't order carry out from this place: This restaurant miscalculated my orders all the time, always overcharged me. In addition, they often gave me the wrong carry out items - items other people ordered, and asked me to drive all the way back to exchange. Food is not fresh if you order on a Monday or Tuesday, taste like the left over from the weekend.
Bad Dim Sum – If you have no idea what dim sum is I recommend you dont try this restaurant. Based on what I have tried in Hong Kong and Singapore, its based on frozen ones you can buy from the chinese groceries store. But if you have never eaten dim sum in Asia you may not know. The owner asked us about the food, when we told them we had to change 2 dishes becos they were not fresh, all she said was that she will take not the next time. Guess what, for my wife and I...no more next time...
Exceptional, authentic Chinese food makes it tough to go wrong here. – The Scene Decor is nonexistent--with food this real, the owners don't need to create a false China around you. Printed on the menu is this statement: "We also serve Real Chinese Food." Consider yourself "in" if no eyebrows are raised when you ask for the Chinese menu. The Food For most patrons, the regular choices, plus the dim sum menu, will do just fine. The regular menu has plenty of the usual standbys, such as General Tso's chicken and moo goo gai pan... read more
Real Dim Sum in Charlotte! – I didn't try the full menu, but the Dim Sum is as traditional as anything that I tried in Hong Kong, Beijing, or Shanghai. I lived in Asia briefly and this was my first return to Asian food. I was a bit nervous about this restaurant's authenticity, but everything was delicious and authentic. The portions are pretty generous as far as Dim Sum goes.
