I had a very frustrating experience with Pickering Digestive Clinic. From the beginning, communication was poor. When booking my appointment, I was told I would receive a confirmation email, but never did. After several days of calling with no answer or callback, I finally reached the clinic and was told there had been a typo in my email address. This caused unnecessary confusion and stress. Had my very first colonoscopy at this clinic at the age of 50 and I’ve never been so impressed with a group of people in my life. Everyone was very kind and afforded me as much dignity as possible throughout the process. They were fast and efficient as a lot of important questions about my health before proceeding. I felt very safe and I felt a lot of trust for the people around me. Anxious people rejoice! The clinic is very well organized. The whole medical team is very professional and calm, which makes procedures much easier. They can send you forms via email to fill in advance and send instructions written down afterwards. Which is appreciated, given that sedation can make you loopy. You will need to ensure you have someone to pick you up. You just cannot Uber or taxi home. Don’t go to this digestive health clinic. They rarely answer their phone calls, and the reception staff are extremely unprofessional. Dr. Laishram has also been unprofessional in my experience. They do not call patients for scheduled appointments, and there is no effort made to reschedule. This is the second time this has happened to me. I’m very frustrated with the lack of communication and accountability and will be returning to my family doctor to request a referral to a different digestive clinic.
