It’s been many years since I was a patient at this facility, and the awful bedside manner has given me medical PTSD that I see in retrospect has greatly affected my medical experience ever since. I had been struggling with GI distress for over 6 months by the time I had an appointment, and I remember the specialist instantly dismissed my symptoms and blamed it on mental health instead. Double billed me and then 45 minute consultation was more like 15 mins. Jennifer Ray refused to make eye contact with me during her explanation which she just regurgitated everything I already knew. She had a very nice assistant…but I think she has some sort of social anxiety. She stood 10 ft away…and stared at the floor. I’m sorry you are in the wrong profession. If you aren’t able to communicate to someone like an adult…and not some shy 6 year old. Very disrespectful……
The GI department at the University of Washington is by far the worst ran department of any medical facility that i have ever experienced in my long history of being a patient of many hospitals and clinics. My GI and GP doctors both provided referrals in August of 2024. After hearing nothing from UW I called in November of 2024. The person I spoke with was very abrupt and acted like I was bothering him. I have had the most unprofessional experience with UW's Gastrointestinal/Digestive department. I do not have a Gastroenterologist and have been referred to UW Gastro/Digestive Center as I have been diagnosed with SIBO and have tried to obtain an appointment with a Gastroenterologist there. For the last 2 months I have called, spoken to individuals who tell me as soon as my case is reviewed a scheduler will call me. No calls, I call each week, no calls back.
