I had surgery and the hospital set up a follow up appointment for me with this office. I then received an "estimate" for $500 for the appointment. When I called to change the appointment, I was told I had to pay this up front before they would see me. I requested to change the appointment to when I got paid, (I just spent 6 days in the hospital), and the person on the phone was extremely rude. Worst practice I have ever visited. I waited 9 months for a new patient appointment and had to file a complaint with UTSW six weeks after my office visit for a response regarding my test results and next steps. They clearly do not have the bandwidth for new patients and should no longer accept them since this is the case.
This is the worst Gastroenterology clinic I've been to. The phone staff is rude. The nurse (Spayne Avant) answering my chart messages is just as bad as the phone staff. If you book and appointment be prepared for it to be canceled several times and wait months on end. With no apologies when they cancel bc Dr. Smith goes on vacation. Then you're forced to see a different doctor. Their website says they want to help you feel normal again, doesn't seem that way. They want to ignore you for weeks on end.
