Always looking for a good deal, I found a 2004 Chevy for sale, 920 miles away, in Lufkin, Tx. The seller gave me a pretty good idea of what was wrong with it, as it had been sitting for 2 years, so I hustled on down to Lufkin and had the truck towed in to Diesel Diagnostics, after making an appointment the previous day.
