I'm not even a tenant and have experienced extremely rude service from them. They showed me an apartment and during the viewing said my pets (2 small corn snakes) would not cost extra. Then after I gave them $60 for mine and my fiances application fees proceeded to tell me they would have to charge me extra each month for them because my snakes, which are housed in locked tanks, will make just as much of an impact on the apartment as a cat. Tom Dickson is the worst POS landlord I've ever dealt with. I lived at 2903 Monument summer/fall 1996 until I was carjacked and shot in the alley behind the building. Tom's response? Wait a week to come over and change the locks (car keys and house keys were on the same ring) then threaten to sue my roommates and me if we didn't pay three months rent after we broke the lease and moved out. What a guy.

RENTERS BEWARE!! – Don't expect to receive your Security Deposit returned to you. Even if you leave your property in perfect condition, the Dicksons' will charge you "bogus" fees. Light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, air filters, etc. whatever they can to try to justify not returning your security deposit. Slumlords and All-Around Jerks – The house was a 3-bedroom advertised as a 4-bedroom (the 4th "bedroom" was a foyer to a small porch and barely held a twin bed). We moved in <12 hours after previous tenants moved out, to a house that hadn't been cleaned or even emptied. The walls were hung directly on the brick facade with no insulation so all winter long we paid hundreds in gas to keep the pipes from bursting, while hanging blankets in every doorway and carrying space heaters from room to room to keep warm. HORRIBLE company to rent from! AVOID Dickson Rentals! – Dickson and Associates (also known as Dickson Rentals and Dickson Properites) has given me THE WORST renting experience I have ever had. Every employee of this "family owned business" is rude and incompetent. It takes them weeks (if at all) to respond to your concerns about maintenance, etc. And if you go to the actual office to make a request, they act as if they are too busy and preoccupied to attend to you. Females Beware! – First of all, Dickson is horribly unorganized and incompetent in general. They NEVER call you back (you have to go to the office if you want to have anything resolved). Although living in an older building is nice, Dickson fails to maintain even the bare essentials, such as electricity and gas problems. The employees are rude and always "too busy" to listen to your concerns. I really regret renting from this company.
