When I first tried Detroit Taco Company a few years ago, I’ll admit, I didn’t quite “get it.” I came in with expectations shaped by chains like Chipotle or Qdoba, thinking this was just another fast-casual Tex-Mex spot. But I’ve come to realize that what makes this place special is its simplicity and authentic style heart. Tacos are amazing... let's start there. Took a got minute to get food, and everything was made fresh per order. My wife liked her 3 ground beef tacos, too. My son liked his smash wrap. Im a big guy, so I ordered a Detroit taco and a steak quesadilla. I was disappointed in my steak quesadilla, it really lacked flavor. They did have options to add queso and / or guac. Lastly, it brings me to the cost. A very small dinner for three people was $60. The consensus amongst us was that the tacos were great, but not for the cost.
Excellent service..refreshingly so.
