Great experience - and an unexpected workout! This definitely gave me a better appreciation of the waterways in Detroit and the natural beauty along the city shore! The staff give a succinct and efficient training course on dry land before you get in the kayaks, and I felt safe and prepared to go across the Detroit River. There were enough little breaks to let my arms rest, and we got to see Peche Island up close with some narration and commentary from the guides. Overall, it was a great experience and one I would do again!
Spent a morning on the water for the Peche Island Tour with our group guide, Brad. He was positive and upbeat the entire trip. We encountered a few rough waves, windy conditions and inconsiderate boat operators while on the water. I’m not the strongest paddler, but I felt like a champion with Brad’s encouragement. My arms will definitely feel the work out in the morning, but I recommend the experience. Brad was also kind enough to give me a short 10 minute tow behind his kayak when my arms were exhausted. I just had one of the most exciting times of my life! The guides are experienced, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend booking a tour with them! I can't wait to book the Peche Isle paddle next! Thank you for a fantastic day!!!
