About this business

Detroit Industrial Gallery is a separate entity from The Heidelberg Project. It is the labor of love of sculptor, Tim Burke. The brightly hued house is an eye-catcher. The sculpture garden is an interesting place to visit if you are into unique and weird art pieces. Made from scrapped pieces that were scavenged from once historic buildings that were razed down. These include materials from the Packard Motor Car Company and Detroit Institute of Arts. A self-taught artist, these whimsical art pieces are also on sale.

The owner-operator artist Tim Burke has captured some of Detroit's soul through his ever-evolving interactive installment that he brings to life with his many experiences and rich history while living in Detroit. We caught Tim outside working on a new piece and stopped to take some pics. Tim invited us up for a tour and amazed us. You can schedule a tour with Tim ahead of time through his facebook page Detroit Industrial gallery.

This looks like someone's house not a business. We didn't go inside because we were sketched out. It was cool from the outside but not worth the drive

Tim introduced himself pretty soon after I showed up, and let me in the gate. He was very friendly and informative. The works themselves are made of various burnt, twisted, and discarded artifacts from abandoned industry. Stylistically, maybe not for everyone, but the context of the location and the work is very cool.
