My condition is unresolved after five months of treatment by Dr. Avila. His office is WAY overbooked, after siting in the waiting room until 30 minutes past my appointment the shortest time I've sat waiting on the exam table is an hour, once I waited two hours. He has a terrible bedside manner and describes in detail the worst things you could possibly have, poorly communicates treatment. I needed to summarize for him to make sure he knows what he is doing. Desiderio Avila, MD.A month ago, I had the sad experience of having an appointment with the urologist Desiderio Ávila recommended by my primary doctor. The attention at his office from the first moment was very poor and mediocre. Was a patient for 20+ years. The past several years, it was common to wait in excess of one to 1 1/2 hours. The last time, arrived for my 1120 hrs appointment, at 1145 hrs Office Manager comes out and calls four waiting patients and said, need to reschedule your appointments 6-8 weeks out. Dr Avila is intelligent and is a good doctor. He needs a better Office Manager, someone with better business acumen and operations knowledge. My experience with Dr. Avila was okay, his office is a complete nightmare. They have no communication skills and are just plain rude. They don't return calls for appointment scheduling, which is so frustrating. I called for an appointment to get my Stent removed on a Thursday afternoon around 1:30 and got a return call the following Tuesday evening around 6pm. We would very much recommend Dr. Avila as a very sincere, considerate and excellent physician! A doctor really cares over and above the commercial side of his job. A doctor with a call!

Dr Avila is one one the best. I have been waiting to speak to an office person for 20 minutes hug up called back she was very rude that she was with a patient and put me on hold again really so waited another 10 minutes..Now they will not answer the phone. Never have I been treated so rude. I am a patient and have spent a lot of money here.

Dr Avila is fantastic. Explains things thoroughly, takes the time to listen to the patient and answers all questions. Takes a very balanced approach to treatment to provide proper efficacy while ensuring patient health and safety. All the things one would look for in a doctor. The only complaints would be at time the wait time to see the doctor and confusion among the staff (who are still quite pleasant) at times (it's a big office... the communication between staff could be improved).
