Dr. John Winkler, has provide me with knowledgeable visit. I just had a vision check, yet a week later after the visit he doesn’t care less to talk to his patient just to make a small adjustment to lenses prescription. Jessica who works at the front desk, I who called for a several days I had experience calls were I was hanged up on. This isn’t professional office whatsoever. If you go there you take you on the risk .There are many eye doctor offices, that treats you kindly and answer all your concerns. I rarely write review... read more

Surgery went well. I needed a stich.. no prob. It'll dissolve. At appointments I mentioned a few items I had large floater - it'll go away I had watery eyes and bit scratchy (I have stitch, it'll dissolve) My last appt (11 weeks after 1st surgery) 1. Large floater - what do you want surgery? Well if that's what I need then yes. 2. Scratchy eye - oooh you still have a stitch in eye. Really 11 weeks later.. shouldn't it have dissolved. He then removed stitch. Tried to take it out by the way without any numbing drops 3. Eye lid... read more

Took an appointment with this doctor's office 2 months ago for an eye exam for my parents. After waiting for 2 months and driving one hour one-way, the doctor's office informs me that they accept the insurance only for surgery and not for eye exam... I wasted 2 months of valuable time and 2 hours of drive...

I presented with the same eye complains to Dr. John Winkler for years but he failed to diagnose and treat them correctly. Currently I suffer not only from eye issues (that are visible to others) but also from anxiety, depression, and insomnia because of them. Dr. Winkler also lacks any social graces and empathy. It's more like a robot, not a fellow human being in a room with you. Do yourself a favor and go to a teaching institution if you can where the clinicians are up to date in ophthalmology.

Dr. Winkler performed my cataract surgery a few years ago. At the last visit, I complained to him my eyes were tearing up (especially outside) and he basically waved with his hand like it’s not a big deal and did not recommend anything. I was later told by another health care provider that my symptoms are due to dry eye syndrome. However, now my eyelids are red and irritated, my eyes feel sore, my eyelashes are sparse and the condition is much harder to treat.

Dr Winkler and his office did not tell me for years that my contacts could be covered by my health insurance because they were medically necessary for me due to my diagnosis. They charged me for them! Also contact fitting is ridiculous, no explanations, no education. When I went to a different clinic, they told me about different types of contacts and what they thought would be best for me, they gave me 2 kinds of daily contacts for 14 day trial for free -and then ordered me a 6 months supply through my health insurance to b... read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Winkler for 33+ years. He checks me for my medical conditions to determine if they are visible in my eyes and also watches for any changes in my macular degeneration. He treats my husband for glaucoma. He is excellent at what he does and we have more than complete confidence in his care. We are very satisfied patients.

Dr. Winkler has managed my family's eye issues since the 1980s. He's stepped away from his dinner table to address my eye issues. He is not of a humorous nature; however, my husband did get him to laugh at one of his "funnies". We thought that a red-letter day! But we don't see a doctor based on his humor quotient, do we? We've always had great faith in him and his skill for ophthalmology. His staff have provided great support to him; however, they have shown various levels of remoteness in our dealings with them. My interac... read more

I had two cataract surgeries by Dr. Winkler. One in October and the other in November 2020. It was a really good experience. I had no pain or even discomfort during surgery. Dr. Winkler explained everything to me beforehand. The medical staff were very responsive to me and even gave me a warmed blanket as I was a bit chilly. If anyone is worried about having this surgery, I want to reassure you that it is an easy and comfortable procedure and very well done by Dr. Winkler. My vision is now very clear. I can read, use the com... read more
