My mother in law boarded her dog here 2 times. He acquired kennel cough BOTH times... I have 2 dogs and have taken my dogs to daycare and various animal facilities; they have never acquired kennel cough or any other illnesses, fleas or bites. It is required to be up to date on vaccines by your facility so it is very disappointing to see such high reviews by others while the 2 times we needed your services it ended up costing us a lot of vet bills and one sad puppy.

I’m sorry that this happened. We do do our best to keep a clean facility but we cannot always prevent such things. Though we do require that all of our guests to be up to date on the kennel cough vaccine dogs can have break through cases. I brought my 4-month puppy for doggy daycare and when I picked him up, he wasn’t jumping all over me like usual....he was attached to the staff & licking their faces instead!! He obviously had a fabulous day with the Derspinna crew & much to my surprise was not interested in coming home lol. He was completely tuckered out, the #1 sign of an awesome day with friends. Top-notch staff and treatment for sure!
After probably the worst experience we’ve ever had boarding our dog in another kennel in Kalamazoo, we felt very anxious about leaving her again at Derspinna. Finding a boarding kennel you can leave your pets in full confidence with, can be difficult. We have beagles, one very anxious the other super hyper and playful. Hate leaving our dog when we go away but it’s such a relief knowing he’s in good hands with the Derspinna crew! I’m starting to think he actually likes when we go on vacation!! Haha

It was our malamute Juju's first time being boarded in years and I was nervous dropping her off. When we returned from a 4 day vacation I was pleasantly surprised that the staff had gone above and beyond to meet her special needs! They even brushed out her super thick coat- she was beautiful, happy, and healthy! We will be back!
