Update: Claimed they were going to attempt to recover the funds they lost. They never did. They stopped responding to our attempts to contact them. They were lying about trying to recover the funds. Dermer LOST the money. It is their responsibility to safe guard a security deposit. Dermer did not do that. I would caution against doing business with this type of landlord. Dan Dermer is an unethical business person. After being good tenants in one of his buildings for 9 years he is claiming he does not have our security deposit and is ignoring our calls and messages. We paid rent on time every month, satisfied every obligation under our lease, and left the space in very good condition. He is stealing our money.
