I’ve been a patient here for almost a year after my previous dermatologist had moved out of Sydney. Dr Mooney is wonderful, however I have had repeated issues with booking in appointments and have found the reception staff difficult at times. Being a healthcare worker myself, it was disappointing to experience the little empathy or assistance provided. I had a bcc removed in march from my scalp and my hair was stitched into the wound and subsequently infected which took nearly a month to clear up. When I went in for stitches to be removed the nurse abandoned me and another nurse had to take over. As of today (21 July) I still have a stitch that has emerged which I have to make another appointment for taking out. Fortunately despite all this the bcc is gone. However would not recommend their aftercare or the quality of the stitching.
Ny appointment was booked for 9.40am, and I arrived early. Upon arrival, I checked in with reception and was under the impression that I had been successfully checked in. However, after waiting for some time, I approached another receptionist who informed me that I had not actually been checked in. I later discovered that I had been recorded as a no show. She not only treated the immediate issue but also addressed the underlying cause with a clear management plan.
