TLDR: I paid a lot of money for them to ruin my dress. Don't pay until you thoroughly inspect your item(s). --- I brought a formal dress in for same day service. I was in a bind cause the dress reeked of its last owner's perfume and I was flying out the next day for the wedding so I picked the closest dry cleaners with same day service. very high prices but with great customer service. It cost me $54 for them to iron a shirt, pants, and a jacket. That's about 1/3 of what it cost me to buy those items.
They did a good job, though it was pretty expensive, and they only gave us a 2 hour window to pick up our clothes, and when I came, they weren't ready. I had to wait there while they bagged it up.
