Disappointed and Overcharged – Get a Second Opinion Before Coming Here I visited Smile Design Dentistry expecting a standard preventative cleaning, but was told I needed a “semi-deep cleaning” because my teeth supposedly didn’t qualify for a regular cleaning. Smile design Villages in Summer field don't know how to read insurance, they wanted to charge me 30 percent more and they have hidden fee, it's a scam. Nobody follow up with me even after my insurance send them my paperwork twice. Their office is so dirty, they make you wait in a small room, no water, filthy floors and grouchy front desk. Stay as far away as you can from this place. Went in for a cleaning, was told I needed a crown (I had no issues with my teeth, I literally went in for a free cleaning included in my insurance). They started the crown process, gave me a temporary crown and I’ve been in excruciating pain ever since. I now need a root canal. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I’ve spent close to 2k trying to fix their mess, not to included all the days I’ve missed from work.
Everyone there is great. I have been going there for years. You are welcomed right away when you walk in and make you feel that everyone has known you forever. The practice is kept clean every time I have gone. You do not wait long. The staff is very professional, kind, friendly, and the Dr is really nice and knowledgeable. When I leave, my teeth always feel really clean and they do great work. I highly recommend.
I needed an Endodontist, I live in Lakeland. My insurance, United Healthcare called several offices too help me find an Endodontist, Smile Design excepted my insurance, I needed 4 root canals. I went to 2 dentist, had xrays from both and referrals. First Smile Design said Nov 5th, then told me to get referrals faxed to them, I have a PPO, not necessary, but was in so much pain, I did it. I would give them a 0 if I could. Just trying to help a Sr. Citizen out here as he can’t even eat! I bought him in for dentures. On the phone, I was told that he would be sent home with some thing he could eat with or his current dentures would be filed down. I asked how long it takes to get them and she said up to three weeks. Well now it’s going to be six weeks and I have to take him back tomorrow so they can try to file his plate down.
