Had my second surgery with Dr. Whitmer. Surgery ended up being more challenging than expected. Dr. Whitmer did a great job of adapting and taking care of the problem. He is easy to talk to, caring, and most importantly skilled. Kudos to his team as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Whitmer.
Dr. WHITMER performed robotic surgery to repair my husband's hernia. We found him to be extremely professional, informative, friendly, and skilled at this procedure. My husband did remarkably well post op and wishes he would have done it sooner. The staff at Mercy One west were incredible too! Highly recommended!

Dr. Whitmer & his team are Awesome!!! Like some others have said he is very professional but has fun with you & explains to you so that you can understand. Which made me very comfortable going into surgery. Deb & Becca have always been there to answer questions, too. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Whitmer & his team!!!
Dr. Whitmer performed a highly complex hernia repair for me and I can't express enough how happy I am with him and his team! He was honest and careful. He is truly a gifted surgeon and an asset to have here in Des Moines!
I had never had any kind of surgery ever. Dr Whitmer was so amazing through the whole process. He explained things to me in terms a normal person can understand, answered my questions, and just in general put my mind at ease. The surgery process went smoothly, as he said it would, and I came out with very little bruising and very little pain. Im very impressed, I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!
Dr. Whitmer and Deb are an awesome team. Both are professionals in all sense of the word but at the same have fun with you. Very laid back medical team and made me feel so at ease. HIGHLY recommend them.
