Dr. Spoonhour was recommended to me by a friend because of a shoulder issue I have had for two months. His staff is courteous and organized. The energy in his clinic is wonderful. I had been to loads of doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists and others about my back problems. Nothing helped. I went to Dr. Spoonhour for another opinion. His agreed to a complementary consultation and told me to bring all my records. Dr. Spoonhour reviewed the MRI records and knowledgeably discussed them with me - something the others never did. I suffered a seemingly minor injury in 2011, leaving me with severe unrelenting pain. There is no cure for the pain, but Dr Spoonhour has been invaluable at helping me live with the pain. The awkward way I sit and sleep causes constant neck and back pain and always needing his help. He is an outstanding physician with the gentlest touch to deliver the best Chiropractic adjustments anywhere. I am very impressed with his staff of doctors massage and physical therapists. I went to his office and told Dr. Spoonhour that I had specific instructions not to receive any high velocity manipulations from 2 physicians and he said no problem. He proceeded to take an X-ray because of some suspect finding in my previous xray. Anyway, the office did not develop the film while i was there and he went on to treat me. I reminded him again not to perform any high velocity manipulations and within 10 seconds he did. I have regressed considerable from 1 office visit here.
Business response:
1) No instability was found on either exam or x-ray (which the medical director and myself did develop and analyze as you were receiving neuromuscular re-education with our therapist, 2) your adjustment was not "high velocity" but very specific to C1-C2 and C7, and 3) some people are sore from the introduction of spinal adjustments similar to introducing exercise to the body from a layoff. In both cases, compliance and repetition are vital. As a med student you should remember that information.
My 1st time seeing a Chiropractor, and I couldn't be happier with both the results and the caring, friendliness and legitimate concern of both him and all his staff. -mwb
