He didn't read my chart and gave me a med that WAS NOT FOR ME!!! He doesn't read the chart that they ask you to write. . He docent call when you have an infection. Its your responsibility to call him.
amazing doctor very caring and very very knowlengeble
Dr. Gage is a fabulous doctor, very knowledgeable about thyroid/diabetes/weight loss. He saved my life. I was able to stop my meds after losing weight and am no longer diabetic. My husband's thyroid condition was diagnosed and has been monitored with the right meds. Dr. Gage is very caring and thorough. Dr. Janof is excellent and helped me lose the weight to be off the meds. They make a great team. He has a wonderful, caring staff.
Gage and Janoff are insensitive and their bedside manner is lacking. Gage never reviewed my charts prior to my appointment ("how long have you been a diabetic again" every single time) and Janof did not have his computer program set up any time I met with him (i.e., he never analyzed the careful logs and food records I had prepared). Moreover, Janof changed my insulin regimen without consulting Gage and then did not inform him of the change once he made the recommendation.
Dr. Gage seems to prefer hawking his book and supplements to being a doctor. He's probably the right choice if you're seeking a weight loss program, but not if you have a medical issue. The office wait typically exceeds an hour and his administrative staff is incompetent, rude and strangely obese.
The two young ladies in the reception area had abrupt, incoherent nasty attitudes the 2 times I went to this office. The second time I went to Dr Gage he had to review the results of a number of thyroid tests taken previously. During a 9 minute period of our conversation he answered his cell phone 4 times to discuss the new kitchen cabinets with his wife,. Certainly he had no respect for me and behaved very unprofessionally.. I found another endocrinologist.
I was seeing Doctor Gage for about two years and have grown increasingly dissatisfied. The only reason I continued with him was to avoid the inconvenience of switching doctors- which I now have. The accuracy of the diagnosis is questionable and minimal information is relayed. Although it is relatively easy to make appointments but they triple book and make you wait for 1-3 hours. I'm not sure if this guy is a doctor or a vitamin salesman since he's always trying to sell vitamins, regardless of the purpose of your appt. He also has a poor memory, can't remember my condition and acts as if he's meeting me for the first time, every time.
I've been going to him for a little over a yr, and I would take any recommendations for a new Dr. All he's ever trying to do is push his weightloss/metabolism program on me. Come on...I'm a 30+ yr old 130 lb type 1 diabetic...SMH. Never checks my blood levels when I come in for check ups (except for the 3mos test), just asks me questions (which I could answer anyway I wanted).
