A lot of info in two smaller sized buildings (archives not open on the weekend, 3 buildings total on the complex). Very interesting. Young lady working there was polite and helpful. Steep climb to the top of a winding metal staircase, but manageable for my 82 year old companion with a cane and the railing. $3 and was an entertaining hour
This museum was a pleasant surprise. Admission was included with our lighthouse ticket, and together they made for a great stop in Escanaba. The museum isn't huge, but it packs a lot of local history into a relatively small space. We especially enjoyed being able to walk through both buildings and learn more about the area's maritime and local history. The volunteers were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. Great historical site. Get to take a tour of the area events over the years inside. Very informative and interesting how it was back in the day. Recommend stopping if you’re in the area. Sits in Ludington Park. Great view from the top overlooking Little Bay de Noc.
