I have been going to Delekta's since I was first old enough to go uptown by myself-probably 8 or 9. Wonderfully nostalgic place. When you walk in it's like a time portal back to the 1940's. I love the fact that over 60 years after I first went I can bring my grandsons and sit in the same little wooden booth and drink one of those marvelous coffee cabinets-sharing the magic I first found in the 1950's....
Excellent service. A Warren treasure. If you are visiting Warren, stop at Delekta's for a coffee cabinet. You'll love it!
We had a summer home(1954-1961) at Touisset, RI and used to go to Delekta's in Warren for the coffee shake.....we also went to the A&W down the street on Child Street (?) for root beer delivered by servers on roller skates (like Sonic today). Warren is a very special town with a lot of great history. I used to enter swim races at the town beach and still have some medals that I turned into a bracelet. I use to go there when I was young and shared a soda with my friend Paul as I got older went for cabinets, cherry cokes and ice cream. When I had children I used to bring them , then came grandchildren. I moved away and do miss it. Thanks Delektas for the great memories
