Sharing my review since I’m going to a new gyno office today and I recalled my experience with Dr. De Jong. It was probably in mid 2024, I had gotten a referral from my GP to see De Jong to inquire about solutions for my uterine septum. This woman literally told me she would give me a c-section and take my tubes out “to gain me points at home” when she found out I was expecting twins (my first pregnancy). I wouldn’t let this woman touch me or my children with a 10 foot pole. Rude, condescending, awful demeanor all around!
I was referred to Dr Dejong by my GP for an IUD back in 2019. This experience was great so when I had to schedule a c-section this year to deliver my breech baby, I asked if I could see Dr Dejong again. My midwives spoke highly of her, saying that she has a ton of experience as an OBGYN. I felt at ease in the delivery room and when I went to have my second IUD inserted today, she was very friendly and did a great job with the procedure. Will always trust this doctor for her expertise!
If you’re looking for a doctor who cares about your wellbeing, this is NOT the place to go. I spent more time in the waiting room than I did actually speaking to Dr. De Jong. The appointment was all of 5 minutes. I came in, she went through my charts and proceeded to tell me to take OTC pain killers for my debilitating period pains, or choose to take birth control that stops my periods all together. I was disappointed with my experience with Dr. JeJong. I found her approach to be dismissive and not receptive to questions or discussion. She relied on outdated practices and was not open to considering newer, peer-reviewed medical literature when I raised it. The interaction felt abrupt and left me without the thorough, patient-centered care I was hoping for. I was then referred to a private clinic.
