Stage 1 — The Beginning of a Nightmare I purchased an off-the-plan apartment from Deicorp’s Downtown Zetland project, and since the day I settled in mid-July, my nightmare began. After moving in, I started discovering defect after defect. The construction and finishing quality are appalling — even an apprentice could have done a better job. Poor quality contractors in liquidation, major defects. Lack integrity, 5 year old building falling apart. Lifts not working, leaks, property has depreciated in 5 years. Builder and developer do not respond to rectifications. Read the court cases of Deicorp hefty fines, criminal prosecution for not compliance.
