Our experience was beyond horrific . The company , Navion , that purchased this facility in late 2021 is totally about profit NOT about residents . My husband was placed after I was sold a completely false representation of what the facility and their memory care unit , would and could offer a person in the early stages of Alzheimer disease. My review is mixed. I know the facility is nice and most of the staff are great. The "administrator" does not even have her licences. She has no business running a facility. She never gets back to any family members. Trying to get her to respond to a call or email is an act of congress. I have on multiple occasions tried bringing concerns about my mother's care and she acts as though she is to busy. Concerned family member- The rooms at Deerfield in Boone Nc are dirty not to mention rat droppings found, after a few complaints about my fathers room and nothing being done i have decided to make it public. I visit twice a week and have noticed more then once that the trash is over flowing and there is dryed urine in the bathroom floor that is NOT being cleaned up the puddle just keeps getting bigger. I really must disagree with the review about Deerfield Ridge. My mother-in-law has been in the dementia unit at Deerfield Ridge for two years. I have not seen one instance of urine not being cleaned up or mouse droppings. This is a first class facility with very caring staff. In the times our family has visited, which is almost every day, we have NEVER smelled the typical 'nursing home' smell, have never seen ANY abuse, no signs of uncleanliness or infestations. A decent assisted living home in Watauga County. You might not realize it, but thats saying a lot. I worked there for four months. The care, while never being spectacular, is definitely consistent. Your loved one will be offered an array of activities that are engaging and fun. The food is decent. There are many social activities. The medical care is very good.
