In our experience, this was nothing more than a typical over hyped social media cake bakery. The cake taste as if it had been sitting for days. Inside appeared disholved and out of businesss with all the lights off.
Honestly best cakes in Seattle hands down. Nothing more needs to be said about the cakes because it’s just that gooooodddd. One thing I hate that isn’t really their fault is that parking is kind of terrible. Maybe I’m just unlucky but every time I go the very few free parking spaces are always taken. The cake (chocolate salted caramel) was moist and delicious, especially the icing. Not an especially generous piece. And the coffee was yummy too. There was a line out the door. After ordering, it took 10 minutes to get our slice. The room was cold, drafty and noisy. If I were to go back, I'd get it "to go."
I was hoping to pick up one of your stellar slabs of cake today. Arrived with about eight people in front of me in line and another eight people or so waiting to get their orders. Suddenly the only counter person stopped taking orders and started doing busy work like pre-filling coffee filters. This went on for 10 minutes before I asked him why no one was taking orders. I’ve frequented Deep Sea Sugar & Salt and always had an idea that I would want to use them for a wedding cake - it turned out so so amazing and it was so fun to be able to also order some some cupcakes for the wedding party (we got so many compliments). It was really nice also being able to decide on the icing color/design!
