I called VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital because my cat was in pain after urinating, and I was hoping to get some guidance before bringing him in. Unfortunately, my experience with their customer service was disappointing. The receptionist didn’t seem patient or welcoming he didn’t ask any follow up questions or show much concern for my cat’s condition. Huge thank you to the staff of VCA Hollywood and DVM’s Kevin Ramirez, Jessica Lukenz and Jenna Cardillo. I brought in my 7yr old doodle IVY, at the recommendation of my primary vet, on a Friday two weeks ago with alarmingly high lived enzymes (ATL > 1800) from an acute infection or a toxin. The staff took care of her immediately and over the weekend, got her on IV and medications (antibiotic, liver supplements, probiotic and anti nausea) and have done testing / ultrasound to diagnose and treat her properly. Changing my review. I’m livid , they gave me a treatment plan for my dog and he needed an ultrasound. They conveniently forgot to tell me that I needed to see a specialist and I had to cancel my appointment the day of and aside from the fees we agreed upon, he needed to have a 200 consultation before the 800 ultrasound.

I don’t do reviews but for the sake of all pet parents. I had a terrible experience at VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital. My dog was admitted for two days, and despite paying $4,000, we saw no improvement—if anything, his condition got worse. It felt like their main priority was keeping him as a client rather than actually helping him get better. IF YOU ARE HAVING A PET EMERGENCY, GO TO ST. FRANCIS EMERGENCY ANIMAL HOSPITAL INSTEAD. DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY MORE MONEY. THEY'RE EXTORTIONISTS. I have taken my dogs to VCA before so I know it's really out of this world expensive. However, these people are CRIMINALS and MERCENARIES. I took my 3-year-old male cat there one morning without an appointment at 7:30 am. I was told that I would be able to see a vet on a first come first serve basis, but I'd probably have to wait.
