Amaka's International, owned and operated by a young, ambitious business woman, is one of my favorite salons. Dedra Hines, the owner, has created an atmosphere that is calm, peaceful and relaxing. I have been going to Amakas for almost 4 years now. I have never had a bad service and all the sylist are wonderful. Dedra is my regular stylist, but I don't hesitate to make an appointment with another one of her stylist if I can not get in with her. I love this salon!

This place is awesome! Jamaica is a wonderful stylist that really cares about my hair. She not only styles my hair, she also gives great hair care advice. The owner is also a very nice person. They make you feel at home and their service is worth every dime.

My first visit to Amakas was back in October 2012. I can honestly say that I saw a difference in my hair within the first two visits. My stylist Brittney really knows her stuff; they ALL do. Their silk press is LOVE, they only offer services that helps grow strong healthy hair seriously and nothing less. 10 stars for me!

Stylist, Dedra gave me the best twist set I've ever had. Also explained to me how to maintain at home. I'll be going back for color and a silk press. I've seen her other clients results & can't wait to see mine!

I had a massage at Amaka's in June. Forgive me, I can't remember the therapist's name but, she was absolutely wonderful! She was professional, responsive, and I could tell massage is something she sees as not just a job but as her joy.

If I could, I would give Amaka's International 10 stars. Oh well 10 stars, lol. The team of stylists & barbers makes your experience so enjoyable, with the great services you receive, you will return. By continuing to be a client, I am treated with the utmost respect, pampered & made sure that I am ok by all employees. This business is my favorite because other than being a client, you are treated as family whom I love dearly.

My daughter is here for the summer vsiting from GA and we were in need of a natural hair salon; my sister recommended Amaka's. I must say I was truly impressed with my daughter's hair. I was hesitant about letting someone new do my daughter's hair but we are both very pleased!! My daughter is looking forward to her next trip to see Quvais, her stylist at Amaka's again this coming Tuesday. I want to thank all the staff at Amaka's for making my daughter's experiences a pleasurable one.

I've had natural hair for over 12 years now. The silk press done at Amaka's (chemical free flat ironing) is AMAZING! My hair is always so light and, well, silky! I have never had my hair look this way from other places or even from doing it myself. The owner (Dedra) has mastered this technique and passed it on to her other employees.
