Rented a bike from these guys to go get a sandwich. Used the bike for one hour and returned it to the rack I rented it from. Somebody called me and said the bike was never returned. They ran my credit card for $700. It seems they have the power to tell anyone they want that a bike hasn’t been returned. I would be very careful renting a bike from this company. If they are struggling financially they might be forced to take it out on you.
Reasonable prices on good quality rental bikes. (unlike those cheaply produced litter bikes) Many locations-including beaches, Balboa Park, Gaslamp, Liberty Station, Little Italy, downtown, and beautiful Mission Bay areas. Well maintained, clean bikes and stations with the best customer service.
Unusable - the bike's seat was loose, but worse: It didn't come out of the lock, even though I tried it 3-4 times, each time putting in my credit card and going through the process. Luckily it only charged me 7$ once. I tried the hotline, and was listening to music for 10 min, but no agent picked up. So I gave up. Nice idea, but very unusable.
My wife and I visited San Diego recently and tried to rent some bikes. The first bike was freed from the rack easily. I had to swipe my card several times and attempt to free several bikes with eventual success. This took about 10 minutes (on a 30 minute rental). We were a few minutes late when we arrived at our destination because of this and were charged a late fee.
