Brought someone here with labored breathing and fighting for air. Literally was told “there’s not much we can do besides an inhaler” before even listening to their lungs. Took plenty of time explaining what the ER can’t do but maybe 5 mins asking about symptoms or doing an actual exam. Diagnosed with “common cold” because vitals are fine, and flu/covid was negative. Nevermind the fact that this person had pre syncope more often than not during this time. So after waiting half an hour again, they were given an inhaler and tol... read more
One of the worst experiences I've ever had in a hospital and I'm 27 yrs post SCI and I've been in my share... The techs/nurses are great and the food is surprisingly not bad..... Don't get hurt in Decatur 🤦🏻♂️
The absolute most ridiculous hospital I've ever been in in my life! I'm a paraplegic and came in to the ER for extreme shoulder, thumb, and wrist pain which is not that big of a deal for an ambulatory person but I rely on my arms and hands to do anything and everything. I was here for 3 days b4 I was even x-rayed on the wrist and only after complaining about it 3 or 4 times a day every day. X-ray from shoulder shows no significant injury to the things that can be seen in an x-ray, which doesn't mean there's no injury as soft... read more
Worse hospital ever. If i didn't have to give a star i would not have. Er is worst the waiting room packed have had to sit for 8 hours just to have xrays on my moms hips. Then keep getting told that we just have to wait. Then nurse comes out mom's in a wheelchair because can't walk. She lets me push her to her then says you can come back with her. I said thats my mom and im over her medical. She says hateful well shes competent isn't she. So i said well you push her wheelchair I'm not the nurse so do your job. Well she got h... read more
We were told that DMH, under new management was better than it used to be. And that St Mary's hospital was the worst in the state. My husband went in because of rectal bleeding, which had stopped but needed to looked at. He was in the hospital for about 15+ hours before he was given any of his regular meds. They withheld even his diabetic meds, and pain meds. He was still pretty sick, as blood test revealed he had lost about half his blood volume !!!!They did a colonoscopy on Sunday. They found nothing, no bleed or any place... read more
