Stopped in on our trip home from vacation, and couldn't have been more pleased with everything! Had a double cheeseburger and my wife had meat loaf, green beans, and butter beans. The burger was one of the best I've had in years. We came hungry and left full and happy. Our waitress was wonderful. We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area!
I searched for home cooking restaurants in Wilkesboro. We were just going for lunch and a couple of stores. I found Dean's. It sounded good. So that is the one we decided to try. Our food was delicious. We both had the chicken pie. I had mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. My husband had cabbage and pintos with his. We both had corn muffins. We both had tuxedo cake. I'm a Southern Girl, so I was happy to find this place on my travels. Home cooked selection at very good prices. I especially loved the tender pinto beans & cornbread, the fried okra done RIGHT; and the collard greens were tender and flavorful, not bitter at all. My friend said the fried ribs were like a fried pork chop, delicious. She was surprised that she liked the fried ribs more than the BBQ ribs which she is more accustomed to. Friendly service.
