I cannot say enough good things about the ER team at Deaconess Gateway Hospital who cared for me on Thursday Feb 5th, 26. From start to finish, this was one of the most compassionate & reassuring medical experiences I’ve had in a long time. My nurse, Lena, was truly exceptional. At the ER for a laceration right below the kneecap about 5 inches long and to the bone and there is no urgency at all at this place. Its a major wound ,but because we got the bleeding under control before we got here, we get to sit in the lobby.Here 3 hours before we even got an Xray and back to sitting in the lobby. We have been here 6 hours and still haven't made it back to the ER! Pathetic! However, everyone here with a runny nose has been taken back already. I will go to St.Vincent from here on out. My mom came in yesterday for same day surgery knee replacement. We were both super nervous but our nurse Lydia Green was so amazing! She was very educating on my mom’s after care and kept us entertained during our long day there. We had many great laughs. She’s an amazing nurse and women! You have a good one on your team that’s for sure! We hope to see her again at my mom’s next surgery and I’m bringing her a good ol’ pot of green beans! 🫶🏼
