I have used DayStar Inspection three times over the past several years and am always impressed with the quality work and thoroughness Mike Skeen performs.
DO NOT USE Mike Skeen at DayStar Inspection. He performed the inspection on our house before we bought it and gave everything the all clear, including our sewer line. Less than a month into owning the house our sewer backed up and we discovered there was a significant crack in our sewer line, and that given its size and location had to have been there for years. We reviewed the sewer scope video Mike gave us and the crack is visible to a trained eye - we didn't know what we were looking at at the time unfortunately. The phot... read more
Mike was an excellent home inspector. We used him twice at two different properties. At the first home, he was able to point out a lot of defects which lead us to cancel our contract. At the second home, he found some rather tricky items -- his report helped us get $1800 in seller credit. Absolutely top notch. I'm always skeptical of a place with only 5 star reviews but after our experience with daystar, I can see why their rating is so high. The house we had inspected is up in Gilpin county, a region that Mike has tons of experience in. He went through not only things that needed to be fixed now but also made me aware of other long term upkeep considerations as well as things specific to the region.
