For 10 years this was our go-to hotel for San Diego ...that was then - this is now-- THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL IN THE WORLD..DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.. They do not give a damn... the fact that the pool is DISGUSTINGLY GREEN and always closed is just a starting point of complaints about this joint..
Do not stay here. The hotel is undergoing renovations and is extremely noisy at all hours. The front desk staff- the manager, Danny, in particular- are incredibly nasty and rude. Staff never once cleaned the room. The room furniture and fixtures were ripped, dirty, scratched and falling apart. The bathroom was filthy and the faucets constantly leaked. The only positive is that you can walk to the beach.
Comfy stay, excellently located within proximity to alot of things. Restaurants were close by, malls for getting some incidentals, and even the local Coaster train station for heading into downtown SD (avoids the freeway headaches and gas prices). Beach was just 4 blocks down, which really saving on parking problem. There was even an old-style theater operating showing movies (like Jaws and the original Star Wars) like back when, close by. Well, that was disappointing. I stayed here ten years ago before Wyndham took over the property and it was in fantastic condition. Now…I wouldn’t go back. The photos on the website make it look a lot nicer than it really is. To be fair, Days Inn is in the middle of renovations so they’re finally going to refresh everything, but it would’ve been wise to do more for upkeep instead of neglecting the property for so long.
