My SIL and I went in for acrylic nails. I asked the lady if she could ombré the nails and showed her a picture. She told me she could. She started the service; and once she had my nails on and clipped, I asked her to redo two of the tips as one was too short and the other very crooked. You could tell it irritated her. She proceeded to practice the ombré on the pieces of nails she clipped off. After about the third attempt, I told her I would just choose another color.
