I was a chaperone for my 8 yr old granddaughter's 1st grade class. I have to say I was so impressed with Dawes Arboretum and what it had to offer. Who'd of imagined that I would walk through a swamp with bald cypress trees! The Japanese Garden was so beautiful. The 1st graders were having so much fun and learning at the same time. I will definitely be back with my hubby. -was a great experience
Will definitely go again. Loved it. Next time I have a ride I can't wait to see the parts we didn't get to. Plan on going again at the end of the summer.
Love walking there its so peaceful. Had great time yesterday enjoyed the warm weather.
Rosemarie and I are long time members of Dawes, we discovered it in the 60's and have going there since. A great place to spend the day and take photo's and enjoy all the different trees and flowers and hiking. I have spent many hours painting landscape and enjoy the inspiration Dawes affords, truly a great place to take children. I encourage everyone to become members. It also inspired me to have my own Bonsai collection, a past member of the Bonsai Club.
Walking through the deep woods, sitting beside one of the three lakes, viewing the lettered hedge, touring the Daweswood House and gardens, telling time with the sundial, sitting in the shelter house at the Japanese Garden, relaxing on one of the many swings, enjoying the peace and quiet, listening to the birds, etc. Unending pleasures...
I grew up going here with my parents and learned to love nature and being respectful of all living creatures. I have amazing memories of time spent here with my parents and my children. I can't wait to bring grandkids here someday and carry on the tradition. I appreciate each and every worker, volunteer and donor that help make Dawes what it is.
Dawes is an awesome place for a walk in the park today, especially when the food trucks are there.
What a crock this frozen event was you should be severely embarrassed about it the advertised hours was not what we was given and the event staff was extremely rude using foul language and threatening to have the sheriff remove people....the screen placement was in the absolute worst spot with trees blocking the view up on the hill epic fail you guys I will never come here again
Would like to say a big fuck you to this place me and my family drove 2 hrs to see the cast and you made us leave I will never be back here again and I hope all the foliage dies
