Large rooms! My wife and I came to wait out some weather on our kayak-sailing trip. We had originally been considering another nearby hotel, and were weighing the advantages and disadvantages of the two. Davis House certainly looked like the nicest option in town, but it was 1 mile walking with the kayak. Great location with views of the river, immaculately clean. Can walk across the street to SquidLips for drinks or dinner. They have a private dock at the water. They have bikes available to borrow. Only drawback was spotty internet. We’ll stay there again!
Beautiful property, no pool but there’s a nice sun deck and the large rooms are really nice. Full size fridge, beach fairly close, excellent dining options across the street. Nice views too.
Seems most of the negative reviews are from folks who changed their plans last-minute... I booked a few months in advance and, due tot he negative reviews, called to confirm things. Kyle was friendly, gracious and helpful...and I had zero issues arriving and checking in. Think of it as a bed & breakfast but without the breakfast! Clean, comfortable, spacious room. We booked a room at Dave’s house inn on Expedia for 3 days for a fishing trip that got canceled because of the weather . I called Expedia and the agent called the hotel and we were charged 333.00 for 1 day for canceling. I don’t feel this was fair. I can understand a small fee maybe but this amount wasn’t right. We were really looking forward to our fishing trip. I called him that morning and told him we were coming there for the fishing trip. He new. The captain cancelled on us. So what could we do.
