Pleasant surprise A very pleasant surprise. We went to Davide because of a Groupon and to be honest it was very quiet although I know it was a Tuesday night which are quiet anyways. Perfect evening – You ever stumble upon a very unlikely restaurant in a very unlikely location and decide to give it a shot? Well that's what happenned to my husband and I . We came into the North End of Boston which I guess is the Italian section. Nothing but high recommendation for Davide – I have been to Davide several times and have to say everything I ever tried was great. The service is very attentive but not over baring . I have to say the Osso Bucco is the best in the city by far and I have had it in many places. The food is good the service is fun and you are never rushed so what else is there . Oh ya a full bar with great wines and my favorite a large selection of grappa
If you love good authentic Italian in a classy and romantic setting Davide is a must. I had one of the best pasta dishes ever . It was handmade pasta with a short rib ragu that was fabulous and better or just as good as the pasta our waiter Eric was very good . He was very attentive but not over the top. Off the main drag in the north end so get good directions because it is a hidden gem.
Perfection I have been to Davide 4 times and each time was perfect. I think I have had almost 80 % of the menu. My favorite is the puff pastry filled with fontina and mushrooms(yummy). I love the food and the service. It's never rushed and you can actually dine and relax without someone pushing you out the door . They also have full liquor which is nice because I love my Martini before odering my dinner with a good wine which they have many of. I love going to Davide they make me feel like family.
North End's Best – I joined City search to review Davide. I had such a great expierence here from the moment we sat down. The owner who is on the floor making sure everyone has a nice time is one of the funniest people I ever meet. This guy should be a comedian. He made us laugh all night. Not your typical North end restaurant I always thought the North End to be just a tourist trap with your Italian American cusine item like chicken marsala or parm that tourist think is Italian. If you want authentic Italian Davide is it but if you want american italian go to hanover street. Davide wasthe closeset I came to Italy. Great restaurant great food and service.
Great Italian Off the Beaten Path – This evening was my third visit to Davide in Boston's North End, and I continue to be pleased. I originally tried Davide after their feature on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, and whether its his influence or not, this is a great Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and truly representative of a family dining experience. Hidden gem – I never write reviews because I don't think my opinion matters that much because I read reviews to alot of places and the expierence usually is not even close to some of the reviews so until I go myself they are only words.But Davide is really a hidden gem. You won't stumble by it walking around the North End even though it's located a block from tourist trap Hanover st. Do yourself a favor and google map it. Once there you are going to be impressed .
