if you need a GREAT phyciatrist, look no further! I have been to at least a dozen physiatrists in the NY area in the past 30 years and NONE compare to Dr. Salvage. He's kind, caring, and extremely knowledgeable! He is patient and will work with you until he finds what works for you. I have never felt so safe in any doctor's care. I can't say enough wonderful things about David Salvage. It's extremely difficult to find a psychiatrist who actually listens, takes their time with you and works 'with you' to find the right medication for whatever you are struggling with. David is a gem, and I would recommend him to everyone and anyone who is seeking quality care. I never liked the idea of seeing a psychiatrist. I always saw the DSM as a bit of a rigid tool. That said, when you need one, the right one can be very helpful. I had an issue I needed help with over a decade ago and put in 3 different calls for a consultation. Dr. Salvage was the first to respond, and I setup a visit. I've been a patient of Dr. Salvage for over three years. He is a true professional. He goes out of his way to provide excellent service. Dr. Salvage is a rarity in psychiatry. While he is a medical doctor, he has a highly humanistic manner and approach that makes you feel welcomed as soon as you walk into his office. I highly recommend him.

“In my experience, psychiatrists tend to be bad, mediocre or good. Dr. Salvage, however, is better than good; he is GREAT. He is not only an excellent clinician but also a truly wonderful person. This place is awful, unprofessional, lacks of courtesy, poor phone etiquette, and disorganized, lacks basic understanding of proper /standard communication. The wait time is ridiculously long - anywhere between 1 and 2 hours. No front desk staff. A doctor carelessly left your chart on the counter near other patients. The office is untidy - lights out in the bathroom, no soap, no paper towels or tissue but sleeping pills. Doctor's cats smell bad, Would not recommend this place to a person or dog
