After seeking advice from an orthopedic professional, I found myself scheduling an appointment with Dr. Patterson. I sought after a provider that was compassionate, communicative, and advocated for my needs. He and I decided to proceed with left knee arthroscopy and medial meniscus debridement of my buckle handle tear. The surgery was an absolute success, and I'm already back on my feet, and just had my sutures removed after 9 days. I'm more mobile than I was before, just like he said I would be. To say I'm grateful would be... read more

I wish I would have reported him. He under-prescribed pain medicine for my partial knee replacement and osteotomy. I had complications from surgery - given 9 bags of IV fluids and sent home retaining 15-20 pounds of this fluid. Pain level was at a ten, and I had difficulty breathing. The pain pump I was sent home never worked and all of the medicine leaked out. I had to be rushed back to a different ER. They couldn’t believe how much fluid I was given and that I was sent home from DMC in my condition. Dr. Patterson did not c... read more

I saw Dr Patterson for a second opinion. I am an engineer and so I always have a lot of questions and need detailed answers. Dr. Patterson was patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and used several different tools (x-rays, drawings, etc) to make his point. He takes his time to understand his patient and uses that to give very useful advice.

I do not recommend. Had to drive from two hours away to see this "specialist". He told me there was a surgical solution if the cortisone worked and to call back. Upon calling him back, his nurse told me that he never once recommended surgery and that there was nothing to fix. I can tell you something is wrong with my knee without a certificate of any kind. The only thing that went well was that it was scheduled quickly.

I am highly recommending Dr David Patterson. Excellent professional expertise and skills. Very thorough. Patient and one of the rare ones that actually listen to you and take a note of your recovery goals. Works with you on achieving them.

Dr. Patterson recently helped me with a knee injury from 30 years ago. I suffered from chronic knee pain over the years and it all came crashing down when my knee locked and I couldn't really walk. Dr. Patterson thoroughly explained to me my condition, he patiently went over all my options and he even drew them in detail on the wax paper covering the exam table! Needless to say the surgery went great and I feel better than I ever had before! Thank you for genuinely caring about your patients!!

Dr. Patterson missed a very critical injury in my knee that I am still suffering with 2 years later.

I'd been suffering from chronic shoulder dislocations for 13 years. I'd had one previous surgery in June of 2005 that didn't hold up. Dr. P offered me two surgical options, both with pros and cons. He explained everything very thoroughly and made me feel comfortable in the decision I chose. I did experience minor complications, but nothing I wasn't warned about and Dr. P took excellent care in seeing that I made a healthy recovery. Four months out from initial surgery and feeling great!
