Dr. Shephard performed a hip replacement on me in August 2009. I developed an infection within 10 days. Without going into all the details of 5 additional surgeries and hospitalizations thru the end of 2009, the end result is Dr. Shephard refused to refer me to a specialist in Dallas. My insurance required me to be referred. I saw him in the office after one of the last surgeries and just moving my leg caused the suture line to break open and blow pus and blood over the wall by the exam table. Dr. Shephard and his team did both of my hips about 6 months apart. He was frank and honest about what to expect. Everyone on his team knows their job well and worked extremely efficiently. I asked tons of questions and didn't always get the answered I wanted but I understood the challenges ahead. Even the insurance billing lady was so helpful. The classes were amazing! I am 3 days post op from hip replacement. I am so happy I selected Dr Shephard. He and his staff are wonderful. The Joint Ranch class and the physical therapy eduction is great. I have high expectations for a complete recovery and outcome.
